I've partnered with The Lactation Network (TLN) to help qualifying families use their insurance so that they can have lactation consults with me for free (covered by their insurance)! Lactation coverage is available for some plans through BCBS, Cigna, United Healthcare, Provider Network of America (PNOA), and Humana.

To determine your eligibility for insurance, courtesy of The Lactation Network:

2) Keep an eye on your email. We should both hear from TLN, usually within 24 hours, regarding your insurance status with TLN.

Important notes:

* If TLN informs us that they cannot utilize your insurance, the consultation will be considered self-pay. In this case, some families choose to use Reimbursify's services which help you easily file out-of-network claims with your insurance. (See Reimbursify tab above for more information.)
* Our cancellation policy still applies for any appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice.
* Travel fees may still apply.

We realize that some may not be familiar with the concept of cash-based/out-of-network practices. As an out-of-network provider, I have the flexibility to create a distinctive care plan, tailored to your family's needs, unhindered by limitations on the range of services offered, the location of the services, or the time invested in you/your child. In many cases our out-of-pocket/cash pay cost will be less than what a family would pay out-of-pocket with an in-network therapy practice.

Under the Affordable Care Act, insurance companies are required to pay for breastfeeding supports and supplies without imposing a cost share. The National Women’s Law Center has helpful toolkit that provides guidance on insurance reimbursement.

Payment is due at the time of or prior to time of service. Debit card, credit card, checks, actual cash, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted.

Bonvita has registered with Reimbursify to help our patients swiftly and easily submit out-of-network superbills to their insurance providers. According to Reimbursify, "Reimbursify is the amazing solution that makes it easy for you to file out-of-network health insurance reimbursement claims right from your smartphone in less than a minute." This is an optional service provided by Reimbursify-- you may opt to not submit reimbursement claims to your insurance or independently submit reimbursement claims to your insurance provider if preferred. The first claim is free, and then subsequent claims are $3.99 each.
